Washington Independent Writers has formed an alliance with Chesapeake Benefit Services in order to fill a significant need for members of the organization. This program is designed to provide comprehensive and competitive insurance products to WIW members, families and businesses.

Chesapeake Benefit Services is able to offer a variety of coverage for WIW members. Chesapeake Benefit Services represents more than 20 insurance carriers, with the goal of designing an insurance package tailored to the specific needs of each individual member.

Health Care. Finally! Affordable plans providing coverage for individuals, as well as small to large businesses. Ranging from the traditional healthcare plans, such as PPO and HMO plans, to Medical Savings Accounts; these plans can be custom fit to suit your needs and budget. Temporary plans and student plans are also available.

Medicare Plans. Provide supplemental coverage, including Medicare D.

Dental Plans. Provides coverage for you and/or your family.

Life Insurance. Provides coverage with term or whole life plans.

Disability. Provides coverage for you and your family through income replacement.

Long-term Care. Plan designed to assist with costs associated with nursing homes and assist care facilities.

Travel Insurance . Provides coverage while outside the country.

Property. Provides coverage for your building and contents such as furniture, inventory and computers.

Business Income. In the event of a claim, your income is protected until your business is operational.

General Liability. Protects your organization or business against claims of bodily injury or property damage to others. Generally, a separate policy must be purchased for special events.

Special Events. Provides protection for your organization in the event of bodily injury or property damage to others during your event.

Directors and Officers. Provides financial protection for the directors and officers of your organization in the event they are sued in conjunction with the performance of their duties as they relate to your organization.

Employment Practices Liability (EPLI). Provides protection for your organization against allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, failure to promote, wrongful termination and other employment-related liability issues.

Workers Compensation. Covers the medical expenses and lost income of your employees in the event they are injured in the course of doing work-related activities. Typically all states require Workers Compensation Insurance.
