Board Bios: 2007 - 2008
Rosemary King, Vice President King grew up in Mexico City, Mexico. An officer in the U.S. Air Force, she has taught English at the Air Force Academy and is currently a speechwriter for the highest ranking military leader in the Defense Department. Rose is the author of Border Confluences:Borderland Narratives from the Mexican War to the Present (University of Arizona Press, 2004). She is also a contributing author to The Legacy of the Mexican and Spanish-American Wars:Legal, Literary, and Historical Perspectives. Rose is writing a work of historical fiction about an African American sailor during the Civil War; he was the first patient admitted to the Old Naval Hospital in Washington, D.C., just a few blocks from her home.
