Board Bios: 2007 - 2008John Curry, Board Member Curry is a communications consultant and writing and literature professor. He has developed print and broadcast projects at CBS Television, the United States Information Agency, Voice of America (VOA), US News & World Report, and CNN. After climbing the highest peak in North Africa (Jebel Toubkal), he wrote a novella about the experience, a selection of which was published in Canada and awarded honorable mention in Paris Belletric’s The Archer Prize, a Los Angeles literary competition. His short documentary “The History of the State of the Union Address” received recognition from the U.S. Congressional historian and State Department for its use of archival photographs and film footage researched and shot at the National Archives. Recent projects include serving as Co-chair of the 2007 Washington Writers Conference and co-editing the award-winning Capital Letter, the newsletter of the Society for Technical Communication.
