Board Bios: 2007 - 2008Claude Berube, Board Member Claude Berube earned a B.A. in History and Soviet Studies from Saint Anselm College, and a M.A. in History from Northeastern University. He has worked for two U.S. Senators on Capitol Hill. He also worked as a civilian for the Office of Naval Intelligence. As a Navy Reserve officer he has been mobilized several times. He served aboard USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52) with the BONHOMME RICHARD Expeditionary Strike Group during its deployment to the Middle East in 2004-05, which included humanitarian relief operations in Sumatra immediately after the tsunami disaster. He currently teaches in the political science and history departments at the United States Naval Academy. He is the co-author of A Call to the Sea: Captain Charles Stewart of the USS Constitution, co-author of the third edition (with Steve Frantzich) of Congress: Games and Strategies, and is currently working on a book about American naval power. A contributor to two forthcoming encyclopedias, his articles have appeared in Maine History, Naval Intelligence Professionals Quarterly, the Journal of Military History, the Journal of the Early Republic, Orbis, Naval Institute’s Proceedings and several newspapers.
